Teacher Profiles

 

Margaret Greig

Margaret is an accredited teacher and has been teaching Piano for nearly 40 years.  She has completed teaching degrees as well as graduating in Creative and Performing Arts. Margaret has also taken studies in Management and Business Marketing. Margaret has also learned violin, flute, guitar and saxophone.

Prior to taking on the ownership and management of Forte at Eastwood and Parramatta, Margaret was a school teacher, who initially trained in the area of Special Education and then moved into Music Teaching, particularly within Infants and Primary departments.  Margaret trained and conducted choirs, school bands and instrumental ensembles, often arranging or composing music; and was a producer, conductor and/or accompanist at school District Music and Arts Festivals.

Presently Margaret teaches, accompanies, manages school operations -with over 20 fabulous staff - and is trying to complete her Masters  at University. She especially loves playing piano duets for 4 hands. She has 3 wonderful adult children - Leah, Andrew and Jarryd.

 

Leah Hanchard

Leah is our Head Teacher and teaches Early Childhood classes as well as all other class levels and private students. Leah's exceptional teaching skills are shared with our other teachers as she is now also a Teacher trainer for all Sydney Forte schools.

When not teaching, Leah works in administration where her creative flair is particularly  highly valued. Leah has 2 loves - other than her husband and family of course - animals, especially her cat; and teaching music. She is currently preparing for her C.Mus.A  Piano exam and is still taking singing lessons. She has been a member of the Sydney Philharmonia Choir. Leah has been at Forte for over 5 years.

Ben Grace

Ben Grace joined Forte several years ago and is much valued  by his students, parents and other teachers. Ben's teaching duties at Forte are a small part of a very busy musical career. Ben has been playing music, particularly piano, for nearly 20 years now. He enjoys songwriting and the challenge of technology and recording, having a degree in Music majoring in Technology and Performance. In Ben's other life he spends many hours composing and recording with one of his bands. You can find


Beverley Tang

Beverley is an experienced piano teacher with professional accreditation. She has been teaching at Forte for over 9 years now and enjoys sharing her passion for music and seeing her students progress in their piano playing. Beverley is an experienced performer and accomplished singer/songwriter having recorded several of her own CD's.


Cecilia Yeung

Cecilia completed her Eighth grade ABRSM piano exam in 2005.  She also plays the flute and is currently studying guitar, clarinet and percussion for her music and education degrees at UNSW.  Having been an active member in a variety of ensembles, Cecilia has performed at many eisteddfods and concerts.   Currently Cecilia is involved in Jazz and Handbell Ensemble and singing in the University Choir.  She has experience teaching both privately and in a school environment.  Cecilia currently teaches classes as well as private piano students, on Monday and Saturday at Eastwood and Parramatta campuses..

 

Charmaine Eid

Charmaine is one of our Music Is Fun teachers as well as all other levels of classes as well as private tuition. She specialises in working with young beginners and students with special needs. Charmaine has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Music) & Social Work degree and would like to become a Music Therapist. Charmaine is Vice President of the music Talks Peace Association who aim to promote peace and cultural diversity through the universal language of music.


Crystal Moloney

Crystal is accomplished performer in both Piano and Flute, and can be regularly seen as a member of a band at many venues around Sydney. She has featured in CD's and music videos.

 


Dane Gerber

Dane has been a valuable member of Forte staff for over 8 years. He has extensive experience at all levels of Forte classes from Junior Keys upwards as well as private students. Dane also dabbles in trumpet and guitar. He has a Bachelor of  Arts and a Masters of Teaching at UWS. His dream is to be able to sit on his back porch, listen to the sounds of the Australian bush and drink cups of good Australian tea.


Josh Jones

 Joshua began his Forte career a a student, when he joined a Creative Keys class many years ago. He is now preparing for his C.Mus.A exam. Josh is currently at Macquarie university doing a Bachelor of Arts/Dip Ed.  Joshua has a particular interest in Music as therapy for those with disabilities. Josh loves playing piano and is a vibrant performer.


Kathleen Sweeting

 Kathleen was been teaching at Forte Eastwood for over 10 years. She has had much experience at all levels of Forte teaching from preschoolers right through to Diploma students. Kathleen has also been  involved in teaching training. Kathleen brings extensive experience to students and enjoys an enviable record of success with examination students.


Nigel Kingsmill

 Nigel has been teaching music since 1996, beginning tutoring of students whilst pursuing tertiary studies and a regular office job. In 2001 he took up a more professional role as a private music teacher and small instrumental classes. Learning piano from a young age, and pursuing AMEB  performance and musicianship courses he soon developed an affinity for other instruments including guitar, bass and drums. His ongoing performance, composition and arranging career involve a variety of genres and scenes including jazz, pop, rock, metal as well as various school bands.


Peggy Shen

Peggy first experienced Forte as a student. He currently teaches both class and private lessons at Eastwood, including Jungle Music classes.  She has completed her A.Mus.A and is currently studying Music Education at UNSW as well preparing for the L.Mus.A.. She enjoys reading and doing craft in her spare time.


Rosemary Pallister

Rosemary is an accomplished, experienced and highly qualified Pianist and Music Teacher. Rosemary has been at Forte Eastwood for 10 years. She commenced her role as a Forte class teacher, and believes that the sort of education our young students get in these classes is an excellent start for budding musicians. Her greatest strength lies in her ability to bring out the best in students studying for exams, at all levels, as well as helping prepare senior students for HSC Music.

 


 


Paul Jung

Paul is currently is in his final year at UNSW of the Bachelor of Music Education. He has experience as both a solo performer and as part of ensembles. He has been part of a Handbells Ensemble, Concert Band and Choir performances. Paul likes Jazz and loves to play around with Jazz instruments - drums, Bass, guitar as well as improvisation on piano.

 

 

Tim Norman

Tim comes to us from the beautiful South Coast, now in Sydney to study at the Conservatorium of Music in Jazz Studies. He majors in piano but is also studying 'Cello.


 

Tina Zheng

Tina is one of our valued Forte class teachers, who also has some private students. She has an extensive background in Piano studies. She is currently studying Architecture at university of Sydney.

   

Vince Allan

Vincent Allan learnt the violin from an early age for 27 years, studying under Yasuki Nakamura, President of the Suzuki Association of Australia. He won a piano scholarship to Knox Grammar School, won the inaugural Suzuki Chamber Music Competition in 1997 and won a scholarship to the National Music Camp in Perth in 1999.

He completed a Bachelor of Music degree in the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Vince is available for private lessons. He also runs a shop in Epping, specialising in new and fine old violins, violas, cellos, double basses.
